A composite or solid timber door with a multi-point locking system is the standard most insurers now expect for external doors, but the lock is only as good as the frame and hinges it’s fitted into — a strong door in a weak frame is still a weak point.
Look for doors tested to PAS 24 standard if security is the priority, and make sure whoever fits it checks the frame is properly fixed into masonry, not just into the surrounding plaster or render.
