Kitchen-diner extensions with a proper zoned layout — cooking, dining and a separate sitting area — remain the most requested single project, usually paired with bi-fold or sliding doors onto the garden.
We’re also seeing more interest in garden additions that aren’t extensions at all: saunas, hot tubs and swim spas installed as standalone garden features rather than inside the house. They’re quicker to install than a building project and give a lot of the same lifestyle benefit.
On the practical side, heat pump readiness and better insulation keep coming up as homeowners plan renovations with future energy costs in mind, even where they’re not fitting a heat pump immediately.
